Wichita Trip

Wichita trip - December 28-30, 2001
I flew back down to Wichita, Kansas for Millie Voboril's wedding, a friend from high school. You can look at the photos from her wedding here. I've included general photos from the trip in this area.

Connie Schlageck, a previous neighbor in Wichita, reads the paper with Skyler Schlageck looking for a new pet cat.

Sarah Schlageck, an old neighbor kid from Wichita plays a game on my Compaq Ipaq.

Joe Schlageck (father of the family we used to live next to) chats with Fr. McGread, the previous pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, during a dinner the Schlagecks and friends held for retired priests.

One night, the sprinkler system on the golf course froze and sprayed water all over one hole of the course, making a very interesting-looking ice wonderland.

Ah, my old house in Wichita, sadly overrun with a water heater in the front yard, unkempt trees, and a bit too many cars around the property.

I visited the new exploration place museum in downtown Wichita. Here, a fan blows on more than 300,000 metal discs. This section of the museum examined aviation and aerodynamic concepts, the largest area of the museum due to the funding of the museum by large aircraft manufacturers and Wichita's strong connection to the aviation industry.

Kids...explore...at Exploration Place. This exhibit is about river aging.

A child looks up into an artificial tornado funnel.

This was supposed to be a minature train set representing Kansas as it was in the 1950s...it rather confused me.
