Iraq Anti-War protest - Dam Square

26/10/2002
Amsterdam

So, I was sightseeing with Fong, from work, and suddenly I noticed the police helicopter was hovering nearby for quite a time while I waited along a canal for the right light. Suddenly, it began to move and I noticed a large crowd a few blocks down. Well, not one to avoid a mob of angry people, I ran right in - it was an Iraq anti-war protest.

Lots of banners, what fun

Think of the TIME that takes every morning - and if you forget to wet it down before going to bed it can be quite painful!

Two sides to the sign - wish he would have been showing the english side more often, doesn't help much for the photo if my audience doesn't speak Dutch!

After the march section of the protest, everybody left their signs here - maybe they can reuse them later, wouldn't want any waste of trees from this.

From across the street, police watch the protest as a peace-sign flag waves in the distance

Note: Small children should not look at this photo, it contains 3 of the four bad letters of the bad word! I suppose that leather jacket would still be his if it weren't for capitalism?

Now, while making a political statement, if you can't throw back a beer and flirt with a pretty girl, what is protest for?
